Dwayne is an Opal Miner in the outback town of Lightning Ridge, on his very first trip out there many years ago he was hooked!

For him it was the thrill of the chase, it was the feeling he felt when he first saw that gorgeous glimmer of an opal peaking through the face of the opal mine. It was him knowing that he was the very first person ever to see those stunning colours, and hold that precious stone in his hands, and he hasn't looked back since.

In saying all of this he will always be grateful for cutting his teeth in opal mining with Paul, Kelly and Mark. It was their knowledge and experience that set fire to his passion for this industry.

Lisa is a Silversmith and she has opal mining running through her blood, her grandparents and family had opal mines at Grawin a town close to Lightning Ridge and spent many years out there mining their gorgeous gems.

They too made jewellery and she feels that doing what they are doing now is a little nod in her grandparents direction.

Making jewellery is something Lisa loves deeply, she puts all her heart and soul into every single detail of her work.

Together they have created this beautiful business that they are both passionate about.

At the front and centre of their vision for The Opal Miner and his Silversmith is high quality gems and craftsmanship, sustainability in their mining and metalsmithing and each piece of jewellery to become a heirloom that is very cherished.

To them the story of each opal and how they found it is the most important part, and they plan on sharing the stories around each stone and their adventures.
